MXG Bak Kwa Pasta Aglio Olio
In lieu of the recent NOC FoodKing CNY video, we saw many audience requesting for Bak Kwa recipes from renowned celebrity chef, Shen Tan, after her spontaneous comment about including our signature Mala Xiang Guo Bak Kwa into many household CNY dishes. Thus, we decided to reach out to her and fulfill your dreams of Bak Kwa recipes for Chinese New Year.
Here's our favourite amongst the 4 recipes Chef Shen has geniously came up with, MXG Bak Kwa Pasta Aglio Olio - a fusion of western and asian ingredients, this will be a rewarding dish to attempt if you're an amateur cook!
200g of cooked pasta (you can use which ever shape you choose)
1 piece of Fyre Mala Xiang Guo Bak Kwa, cut into 2cm x 1cm pieces
Half a cut chilli
2 cloves of garlic, rough chop
1 tbs of lard (olive oil)
1 tbs (15g) of butter
3 tbs of water
1 tbs of fish sauce (soy if you don't have fish sauce)
1. Add to a cold pan, add the butter, lard together with the garlic and bakkwa
2. Let garlic cook until light brown then add pasta with water and fish sauce
3. Let simmer until moisture is cooked off
4. Garnish with red cut chilli/chives and serve
